Ancestry Cellars

We believe, above anything else, that family is most important. We come from a long line of hard working, family oriented people. Our grandfathers and grandmothers got up early with the sunrise to greet the day and put in an honest day’s work. Our ancestors worked in logging camps, fished, worked as longshoremen, were teachers at the local elementary school, and above all else, raised caring, fun-loving families. After a day’s work our parents continued the traditions of their parents by coaching our sports teams and rooting us on from the stands. Although working hard was a family value, being an active participant in your kids’ lives was most important of all. We have families that have always been there for us, to celebrate with us through life’s great moments or triumphs, and to lend a hand when we have been in need. We continue that tradition today – working hard and putting family first. Enjoying all that life brings our way – from adding new members to our family tree, to celebrating birthdays, to sharing holidays together. We continue our tradition of working hard, and at the end of the day, being thankful for our blessings and making sure to let those we love know how important they are to us. So raise a glass to those most important to you – to family!

Jason Morin
Jason comes from Gig Harbor, Washington. He grew up learning about life and fishing from his father, Marty, and Grandfather, Nick. Jason’s journey to wine making began while helping his grandparents make wine in their basement. He holds a degree in biology from the University of Puget Sound and after years of work in sales, with wine collecting as a hobby, Jason decided to learn more about the wine industry. A few classes at South Seattle Community College’s Northwest Wine Academy led him to the conclusion, why couldn’t we start our own winery? So, he completed their production program and with his new found knowledge and a little wine making in his blood the adventure began.

Erin Haerling Morin
Erin grew up in the small, coastal town of Raymond, Washington. Erin’s maternal grandfather, Ed, was from Poland. Holidays included the stuffing and boiling of pierogies, a traditional Polish pasta with potato, cheese, or cabbage filling. They also included many aunts, uncles, and cousins for gatherings on both sides of the family. Like her mother, Gayle and many other members of her family, Erin works as a public school teacher in Washington. Together with Jason, they are raising their son, Nicholas and working to build the winery, with much continued love and support from their parents.

Nicholas Morin
Nicholas joined our family in November 2010. Because family and tradition is so important to both Jason and Erin, Nicholas is named after his father’s paternal grandfather, Nick and his mother’s maternal grandfather, Edmund. With both Jason and Erin’s fond memories of working and spending time with their parents and extended families, it is their hope that a new tradition of a family business is being born with Ancestry Cellars.

Olivia Morin
In September of 2014, we were blessed with our daughter, Olivia. She is a spunky, independent little girl who enjoys running through the warehouse and sitting on the forklift right along with her brother. She spends her time trying to keep up with her big brother, and completes our family tree.
